This Thursday, he will share the dramatic changes related to Microsoft's acquisition of LinkedIn and how to navigate these changes. This tutorial is NOT an “egghead” drill-down, but a realistic look at what’s the most valuable for the vast majority.

"THE DATA DRIVEN REVOLUTION: THE FUTURE OF CORPORATE TECHNOLOGY": MARCH TECHNOLOGY FORUM SUMMARY

The March Technology Forum featured a fascinating presentation titled "The Data Driven Revolution: The Future of Corporate Technology", presented by Steven Kostyshen.

My reaction to Mr. Kostyshen’s talk can be summed up in two words. Mind. Blown.

Co-chairs Nancy Berlin and Steve Kruger opened the Forum, which was once again hosted by Hewlett-Packard Enterprise in their beautiful new café. Nancy and Steve reviewed the upcoming Atlanta chapter meetings, including two new “PM in the AM” events coming up in April – one at the Georgia International Convention Center near the airport on the 18th, and the second at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church on the 19th.

Nancy then introduced Steven Kostyshen. His talk was a futuristic discussion about what Steve believes will be unprecedented change in almost all aspects of society due to the advancements in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS IN OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS

Enrollment is underway for the Summer 2017 term of the Mentorship Programs offered at PMI Atlanta!

  • The program is only open to PMI Atlanta members - participants may earn up to 8 PDUs AT NO COST
  • WE NEED MENTORS! Mentors have the opportunity to share Project Management knowledge with another PMI Atlanta Member
  • Mentors and Mentees will be matched according to goals/objectives or area of interest
  • The enrollment period will last through April followed by a mandatory Kick Off Meeting, in early/mid May
  • The mentoring term lasts about 3 months (much like a college ‘semester’) with a minimum of a 6 hour commitment (May-July 2017)
  • Space is limited to the number of mentors who volunteer. A waiting list will be created for those that do not make it into the Summer term
  • Those interested will need to complete a survey so they may be matched appropriately
  • Email mentoring@pmiatlanta.org to get started 

2017 PMI ATLANTA CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP

The PMI Atlanta Chapter is providing an academic scholarship to be administered by the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) Scholarship and Awards Program. PMIEF, a charitable nonprofit organization, supports development of the best and brightest future project management professionals worldwide by providing over 40 academic scholarships to college and university students studying project management and related fields.

The PMI Atlanta Chapter Scholarship is not only an excellent way to help a student realize their dreams through education, but it is also an opportunity for the chapter and its members to engage local academic institutions and to help promote the chapter’s work as well as the project management profession.

Please help spread the word about this new scholarship opportunity. Below please find additional information:

Applications are due by May 1st. In order to be considered eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in or applying for an accredited academic degree program in project management or a related field benefiting from project management with the following order of priority:

1. A member of the PMI Atlanta Chapter attending or planning to attend an accredited academic degree program at any college or university.
2. An immediate family member of a PMI Atlanta Chapter member (including spouse, children, stepchildren and grandchildren but not cousins, aunts, or uncles) attending or planning to attend an accredited academic degree program at any college or university.
3. A resident of the State of Georgia, USA attending or planning to attend an accredited academic degree program at any college or university.
