Register for the Next Career Series Event - Brand and Land: ChatGPT Workshop

Saturday, March 23, starting at 11am

Many of you likely know and use ChatGPT today to serve as a virtual personal assistant. However, do you know how to use ChatGPT to turbocharge your professional career? Specifically, how many of you know how to use ChatGPT to establish and enhance your resume and LinkedIn profile to increase your visibility with recruiters? Also, do you know how to use the tool to create a customizable job search strategy to increase your odds of landing the role you are seeking today? In addition, do you know to use ChatGPT as an interviewer to earn the job you’re seeking today?

If the answer to any of these questions is “no” or even “I’m not sure,” then you owe it to yourself to learn the fundamentals of ChatGPT to boost your career.

The PMI Atlanta Chapter is pleased to present the Brand and Land ChatGPT workshop conducted by Signofied Services. This workshop is intended to provide registered attendees with insights on how to successfully prepare for your next interview.

PMI Atlanta Partners with Trees Atlanta

Volunteers from our chapter joined Trees Atlanta in February 2024 to plant 90 trees in Orme Park. Robert Montgomery, far right, and others took part in digging, planting, and clearing invasive species on park lands. Their work not only helped to beautify the area but also affirmed the crucial role urban forests play in providing cleaner air, cooling shade, and a healthier habitat for both humans and wildlife. Our chapter actively participates in PMI’s global Hours for Impact initiative, dedicating our time to community service to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Founded in 1985, Trees Atlanta works to mitigate Atlanta’s tree loss, protect its forests, and increase its tree canopy. Empowered by a community of volunteers, Trees Atlanta serves the metro Atlanta area and has grown to become one of Atlanta’s most widely known and supported non-profit organizations.

Entertainment Forum Hosts Georgia Film Office in March

The Entertainment Forum kicks off their new year with an exciting speaker: Craig Dominey, Senior Film Location Specialist at Georgia Film Office.

Georgia is now recognized as one of the top 3 markets for film and television production along with Los Angeles and New York City. How did this industry grow so rapidly in Georgia? We will discuss how the Georgia Film Office recruits film and TV projects to the state, the economic impact this industry brings and resources the Georgia Film Office provides for businesses and property owners to market themselves to the entertainment industry.

Craig Dominey is the Creator and Manager of the State of Georgia’s Camera Ready Program, a groundbreaking initiative enabling county representatives to promote their unique shooting locations and other production assets directly to film and television producers. Craig oversees a network of 159 Georgia counties, training Camera Ready county liaisons on how to work with the entertainment industry.

Craig also serves as the Senior Film Location Specialist for the Georgia Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Office. For over 20 years, his primary job has been to promote the state to production companies as a shooting location for feature films, television shows and other media productions. Craig scouts and photographs a wide variety of shooting locations throughout Georgia based on the scene requirements of a particular screenplay.

AEC Forum Returns to In-Person Next Week

Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 6pm

The AEC Forum will meet at Motion Recruitment (formerly Matrix Resources) Tuesday, March 12 starting at 6pm.

We look forward to launching another in-person event for our members! Join us to network face-to-face with other AEC PMs for the first time since 2020.

William Brown, III will discuss Aerial Photography, an Essential Tool for Construction Planning and Management:

What is the use for a drone in the AEC industries? Consider the following tasks: mass-grading, surveying, and mapping, pre- and post-construction documentation, bridge construction and subsequent maintenance inspections, and inspections of building facades. Now, consider these questions: can these sites be difficult to access safely and efficiently on foot or vehicle? Will the ground-level vantage point provide the best perspective? Will documenting work during its performance interfere with the work? We are aware of the physical limitations of performing all field documentation tasks from the ground. These situations, are best suited to aerial photography and data collection.

During this presentation, William Brown will outline when and how to develop a drone program, and how to integrate their use as a regular part of the project schedule. Join us as we learn more about this efficient, cost-effective method to take your projects to new heights.
