Saturday, June 7, 2025, starting at 10am You're invited to our Chapter Picnic! This is a family event full of activities, food and goodies! This event will spotlight our hardworking Chapter Volunteers who provide the planning and innovation for the programs the Chapter offers our members and community. Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to expand your network and the Chapter provides an event every year for volunteers across all committees to gather and celebrate each others' accomplishments. Guests are encouraged to bring their families. Face painters and balloon twisters will create creative artwork for kids and adults! We will have games and activities for kids of all ages....and did we mention prizes? Food trucks will be available with your choice of luau bowl, chicken and waffles, or burgers. These aren't your typical trucks! You will be asked to select your truck preference during registration. Plus, everyone gets King of Pops for dessert! We look forward to seeing you and your smiling friends and families to kick off the summer! |

Creating a Leader: An American Story: May 2025 Chapter Meeting Summary By Mike Ososki, PMP It’s a gigantic topic, pervasive and powerful throughout the millenia: leadership. So Dr. Abhay Trivedi and CEO Andrew Russell wrote a book about it, sourcing from the specific perspective that leadership is to bring out the best in others. And to achieve this, you must be selfless, have integrity, and maybe most important of all, “raise your inner self.”
But the reality for many organizations is not so pretty: too many changes in top management, rigid corporate policies, short-term perspective, and money focus vs. human value all contribute instead to commoditization and mediocrity. Leaders are responsible for vision, strategy, change management, talent acquisition, perception, integrity, and principles—so much! In Dr. Trivedi’s opinion, “leaders need to create a culture of complete transparency.” This includes openness, with everyone feeling free to share and collaborate, discuss any ideas with peers and supervisors, openly offer construction criticism. And no criticizing behind people’s backs.
Volunteering for PMI Atlanta has many benefits, including PDU credits, networking, and gaining experience to utilize in your career. We have the following exciting volunteer positions available. Please review and take a moment to submit an application if you are interested.
