Description:
The Project Management Institute's Program Management Professional credential (PgMP) defines the global standard of best practices for program management professionals. As a result of attending this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively navigate the program management discipline and successfully prepare for the PgMP certification exam.

Course objectives:
• Prepare to pass the PMI® PgMP certification examination
• Integrate the Examination Content Outline from the latest Role Delineation Study by PMI
• Navigate the all the processes and integrate all the knowledge areas of The Standard for Program Management, 3rd Edition
• Analyze methods essential for PgMP exam success
• Align your program management experience with PgMP terminology and definitions
• Identify the steps needed to complete your exam application and meet the required criteria

Who should attend:
Those who want to achieve PgMP certification, including program and portfolio managers, experienced project managers and senior executives. Participants do not need to hold a PMP® certification but should be aware of the examination eligibility criteria established by PMI.

It is also preferred that attendees be a member of PMI and bring their laptops with the FREE electronic version of the Standard for Program Management, version 3 already downloaded.

Instructor will supply FREE electronic “bubble charts” that explain how to complete the PgMP application.
Instructor will supply copies of the slides.

It is recommended that attendees purchase a set of 5-colored highlighters (yellow, blue, pink, orange, and green).

Instructor Bio. 

James is the Managing Director of James Haner Limited (JHL) Consulting, specializing in “Building Better Businesses.” JHL is an independent firm offering business consulting and project management/leadership services to Fortune 500 companies in the U.S, Europe, Africa, India and China. James’ responsibilities have included establishing a corporate Web presence for a Fortune 500 company, creating a successful organization-wide employee development plan, and developing the IT infrastructure for a start-up company in both project management and leadership roles.

James completed his PhD in Adult Education at the University of Idaho and Corillins University. He earned an MA degree in Management from the Claremont Graduate School and took classes with Peter F. Drucker, “the father of modern management.”

James is a contributing author of 140 Project Management Tips in 140 Words or Less, 2010; Making Sense of Sustainability in Project Management, 2011; PMP Practice Makes Perfect, 2011; and Program Management: A Life Cycle Approach, 2012; and, Sample Exam Questions: PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), 5th edition, 2014.

He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

James was awarded the Dale Carnegie Course “Highest Achievement Award” and earned the Vietnam Service Medal.
