Description:

Prepare for the PMI Risk Management exam (PMI-RMP) through this two-day, instructor led course. This course offers an in-depth look at risk management through a PMI perspective, and is delivered in a combination of lecture and hands-on learning format. In this boot camp style course, you will receive a comprehensive introduction to project risk and cover the four primary exam objectives.

Course objectives:

• Manage project risk effectively to deliver successful projects that meet stakeholder needs
• Apply customizable, industry-robust templates to create a Risk Management Plan and Risk Register
• Leverage a proven 7-step qualitative risk-analysis process to identify risk exposure
• Translate risk into actual time and cost impact using proven quantitative risk-analysis tools
• Utilize a tested 7-step technique to design your risk response strategies

Who should attend:
This course will benefit anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of managing risk, and will focus on those preparing for PMI’s certification exam and obtaining the PMI-RMP credential. The final day will end with a full-length practice exam and question review. 

Participants do not need to hold an RMP® certification and should be aware of the examination eligibility criteria established by PMI.

Instructor Bio. 

James is the Managing Director of James Haner Limited (JHL) Consulting, specializing in “Building Better Businesses.” JHL is an independent firm offering business consulting and project management/leadership services to Fortune 500 companies in the U.S, Europe, Africa, India and China. James’ responsibilities have included establishing a corporate Web presence for a Fortune 500 company, creating a successful organization-wide employee development plan, and developing the IT infrastructure for a start-up company in both project management and leadership roles.

James completed his PhD in Adult Education at the University of Idaho and Corillins University. He earned an MA degree in Management from the Claremont Graduate School and took classes with Peter F. Drucker, “the father of modern management.”

James is a contributing author of 140 Project Management Tips in 140 Words or Less, 2010; Making Sense of Sustainability in Project Management, 2011; PMP Practice Makes Perfect, 2011; and Program Management: A Life Cycle Approach, 2012; and, Sample Exam Questions: PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), 5th edition, 2014.

He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
