Biography
Barb is passionate in her quest to help Project Managers improve their public speaking, communication and leadership skills so that they can move forward to build their lives and careers.
Barb participated as a team leader who helped create the PMI Atlanta Toastmasters club at the PMI Professional growth event in February 2011. The club chartered in March 2011 and has functioned as a SIG of PMI Atlanta Chapter. Barb is a charter member of PMI Atlanta Toastmasters where, as mentioned previously, she served as Treasurer during the inaugural year.
Barb served in leadership roles for Toastmasters International District 14 (State of Georgia) from 2007 – 2010. She served as Area Governor and as Division G Governor responsible for a team of 8 Area Governors who led 36 Toastmaster clubs from Sandy Springs to Cleveland Georgia. Four new Toastmaster clubs were chartered during her successful tenure as Division G Governor. The Division completed 8 of 10 District’s program goals and was awarded recognition as a Select Distinguished Division from Toastmasters International during 2010 – 2011.
Barb lives in Alpharetta, Ga with husband Larry and “fur” child, Sammy.
She is an avid tennis player and loves water sports, football and baseball.
Vision
Advance and promote the PMI Atlanta Chapter organizational goals by assisting the Chapter leaders and operations teams to:
• identify areas of improvement for financial operations
• provide budgeting and reporting of financial activities for sponsorships, events, and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to PMI ATL Chapter leadership teams
• standardize and provide education about financial reporting requirements to new SIG leaders
