Bowers Rodney

As Principal Consultant for MinervaWorks, Rodney Bowers is focused on global IT infrastructure; including data centers, cloud environments and applications platforms. Bowers’ architecture responsibilities include all aspects of wireless service delivery, device connectivity, Internet of Everything and global network connectivity for all application platforms. He is also the primary process architect for Information Technology Service Management (ITSM), including monitoring and management tools, ITIL process creation, ITIL process alignment with TMForum Frameworx and adoption of IT operational best practices.

During his technology career, he has focused on engineering, research and development, emerging technologies, IT organizational development, software engineering, systems architecture, data management and network design. Bowers has spoken on these topics at Interop, F5 World, Network World and as a contributor to Oracle webinars. Additionally, he writes a technology advisory column for a major financial service magazine.

Bowers is also General Manager for MinervaWorks, a position he has held since founding the company in 2009. He has been engaged with such clients as Las Vegas Sands, DuPont, CBE Group, Broward Health, West Georgia Health, Intercontinental Hotels Group, SITA, Verizon Telematics, EMC, HP, Advocate Networks, Tek Systems, Duke Energy, ACS Technologies, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Redline Recovery Services.

 

Keynote Presentation Details:

MedShare International is a humanitarian aid organization that sources surplus, essential medical supplies and equipment and directly delivers them, with training, to doctors and nurses around the world, to help build capacity and improve the quality of life of people, communities and our planet. It collect surplus medical supplies and equipment from hospitals, distributors and manufacturers, and then redistributes it to qualified healthcare facilities in the developing world. They also outfit medical missions and safety net clinics in both the U.S. and abroad. To date, MedShare International has had numerous impacts including :

   • Collecting more than $100 million worth of life-saving medical supplies and equipment,
   • Shipping over 1000 containers to 97 different countries
   • Savings in excess of 2 million cubic feet from area landfills
   • Sorted more than 6,000 tons of medical supplies
   • Built volunteer corps exceeding 1,500 per month
   • Provided more than 2,100 medical mission teams with $2.5 million in supplies.

Redding CharlesCharles Redding served as MedShare International’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) for two years before being named President and CEO by the MedShare Board of Trustees, effective May 5, 2014. In that role, he was responsible for all three of MedShare’s locations, Operations, Distribution, Biomed Training & Services, Programs and Procurement. He led the company's efforts to expand into the Northeastern United States by opening a Sorting and Collection Center in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Prior to this role, Charles held a number of senior management positions with Johnson & Johnson (J&J), including the first Plant Manager for Ethicon in Juarez, Mexico and Director of Asia Pacific Operations, where he was based in Shanghai, China, managing facilities in China and India. His latest role at J&J was that of Vice President of Global Operations for its Aesthetic Medicine Business. He was responsible for 1,200 employees in the U.S., France, The Netherlands, and Mauritius, managing a $200 million dollar budget.

An Atlanta, GA native, Redding graduated with a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, and received a certificate in Team Management from the Daniel School of Management at the University of South Carolina.

Charles' time abroad has increased his sensitivity to the global need for health and human services. He is very passionate about improving the quality of life of those most in need.

Charles lives in McDonough, Georgia with his wife of 24 years, Vele Keyta Y. Redding, and 13-year-old son Morgan Charles Redding. He enjoys reading, sports, teaching and developing people.
