6:00 pm	Governance Forum (Virtual) - 210825 Webinar "Agile and Governance—it’s not the newest installment in the Mortal Kombat series!" presented by M.C. Moore, Agile Coach. The Governance Forum provides value to the PMI Atlanta community by offering participants: Discussion of field-tested best practices, Decisions frameworks to assess culture and apply optimal strategy, Key takeaways to “take to work tomorrow” to maximize realization of value through introduction and standardization of best practices in the oversight and execution of projects, programs, and portfolios. Presentation All too often people working in Agile delivery have viewed their colleagues in Governance as adversaries rather than as allies and supporters. In some circumstances, the PMO has been given a directive to act in ways that have led to a further deterioration of that working relationship. We will spend our time together to help reset expectations and view each group’s objectives with a new lens in the hopes of achieving the level business agility necessary to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. In our conversation, we will explore: the commonalities of purpose for both the Agile delivery team and their Governance counterparts; ways to leverage our project management experience and training and apply that knowledge in a new,Agile-centric environment in which many companies now operate. Learning objectives: Recognize and appreciate the vantage point that each discipline brings to a successful product launch or upgrade; Understand the motivations of your colleague and collaborate with an assumption of positive intent, but recognizing we’re all human and mistakes do happen; Model both grace and forgiveness when encountering the missteps or shortcomings that sometimes occur as we operate in a volatile, complex, uncertain, and ambiguous business landscape. Due to coronavirus concerns, we will be hosting this event through webinar. Because of this change, member rate is now $8 and non-member rate is $10.
