Presentation

"Agile vs. DevOps - What’s the difference?"

As companies pursue the Holy Grail of better, faster, and cheaper software, they inevitably run into the challenge of how to optimize deployment and operations.  While the solutions vary by the situation, the principles remain the same.  Software is a fundamentally a complicated, and often complex, product that is costly to develop and difficult to operate.  While DevOps has been in existence for a long time, the term has recently emerged as a key element to scaling software development in a reliable and economically viable way.

We will discuss the roots of DevOps in traditional software development and configuration management, describe the emergence of DevOps as a fundamental organizational pattern in “next generation” internet companies, and chart the course for the future in areas such as DevSecOps and Internet of Things (IoT).  In the process we’ll touch on topics such as organizational culture, organizational design, software architecture, project management metrics, and continuous improvement.

Be sure to bring your questions for the Q&A section at the end, and get ready for a deep dive into one of the hottest areas of software development today!
