The Agile Forum meetings offer an opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing with other agile practitioners as well as provide a learning environment for professionals interested in learning about agile techniques. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Whether you are a trainer, coach, leader or team member - facilitation is key to the success in an Agile environment.

“Winging It” is NOT a good strategy for facilitation!

This session will explore:
• Group dynamics – Are you developing trust, teaming, and authentic collaboration among the group?
• Active listening – Are you really hearing what others are really saying?
• Critical thinking – Are you using your critical thinking skills as a facilitator?

This hands-on session will explore these 3 things you MUST understand to be a GREAT facilitator!

Learning Objectives
• Recognize the importance of group dynamics
• Learn the skill of Active Listening and identify types of listeners
• Explore critical thinking skills as a team

BiographyMegaw-Kate

Kate Megaw, CST, PMP, CAL is an IT professional with over 15 years of industry experience. Kate is the President of The Braintrust Consulting Group, a provider of complete project management services for a wide range of software related projects. Braintrust blends People, Process, Tools, and Training into one seamless formula in order to help their clients break through roadblocks, improve processes, meet deadlines, and exceed goals.

With a background in project management and training, Kate has spent much of her career managing and leading teams for global companies. She has founded and grown several community organizations such as Birmingham International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners (IAMCP), Agile Birmingham and TechBirmingham’s suite of TechMixer Events. In addition Kate has served as Vice President for Professional Development for PMI Birmingham. In the training industry, Kate has worked for Microsoft Gold Certified Training Partners in both the United Kingdom (UK) and The United States of America (USA).

Kate is a frequent presenter at PMI chapter events and a guest speaker at the UAB Post Graduate Information Engineering and Management (IEM) program at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She enjoys sharing her love of traditional project management and agile processes with The Braintrust Consulting Group’s clients.
