The Agile Forum meetings offer an opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing with other agile practitioners as well as provide a learning environment for professionals interested in learning about agile techniques. Everyone is welcome to participate.

The question comes up every time. In every Agile transformation that I’ve been involved with, it is always asked. What do we do with the project managers? We’re going Agile. Do we need them?

If you do any research on the topic, you’ll probably find that there is not much content on the topic. Almost as if it is a topic to be avoided. Given that, you could easily assume that there is no room for project management in Agile transformations. I propose that project management does have a role in Agile transformations.

In this interesting and informative session, you will learn practical ways in which project management can benefit Agile transformations and how project managers can add value to organizations transitioning to Agile.

Biography

Leon Sabarsky excels at building high performing product and software development teams ‎for all types of organizations. He has 20+ years of IT experience and has been an Agile evangelist for the past 10+ years, primarily in regulated industries (health care, insurance and government sectors).

He initiated the first Agile transformations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and WellCare in Tampa, FL, forming the first Scrum teams, hiring Scrum Masters and Coaches, as well as providing Agile Training and Coaching. He is a frequent speaker at Agile and Scrum conferences. Leon is very passionate about unlocking the power of self-organized teams to deliver value to the business rapidly and with high quality in highly regulated environments. He has many certifications with many letters. He formed Healthy Agile in 2016.
