“Beyond Methodologies: Building Flexibility into How We Work” presented by Andre Whittick, Technical Product Manager at Deloitte

The Agile Forum meetings offer an opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing with other agile  practitioners as well as provide a learning environment for professionals interested in learning about agile techniques. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Presentation

Leading large cross-functional projects comes with a constant balancing act. Teams desire the freedom to do their best work, while leadership needs clear insights into progress, risks, and outcomes. In this session, our speaker will discuss how to navigate that tension. Using their experience in recent roles, attendees will have practical examples of how to collaborate with large teams across multiple functions and stakeholders.

Join us to hear real-world learned lessons—not theory—about establishing flexible working methods that empower teams, while fostering the right level of trust and visibility with leadership. This session is ideally suited for mid- to senior-level practitioners who are managing complex programs or portfolios and need effective strategies to align diverse groups without incurring unnecessary overhead.

Takeaways

  • Practical strategies for granting teams freedom while keeping leadership informed.
  • Scalable reporting techniques that work across functions.
  • The importance of consistent “agile hygiene” in fostering trust and predictability.
  • Guardrails that promote accountability without stifling creativity.

Andre Whittick's experience over the past 16 years has been anchored at the intersection of technology, product leadership, and program delivery. He currently serves as a Manager at Deloitte, where he helps large federal and commercial clients tackle some of their most pressing challenges—whether that involves developing risk and compliance products, designing disaster recovery environments, or implementing AI and analytics solutions into production.
