The PMI Atlanta AEC Forum is a focus group that hosts regular events with ranging topics in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields. We will show the importance of solid project management in these related fields of study.

Presentation

Last year the Material Handling Institute (MHI) released The Material Handling & Logistics US Roadmap 2.0. This report, which predicts how supply chains will evolve between now and the year 2030, is the result of a comprehensive, seven-month study involving more than 200 supply chain-industry thought leaders.

Steve Hopper was one of the Roadmap's participants and roundtable leaders, as well as a researcher and a co-author of the final report, which covers four fundamental aspects of supply chains: technology, the consumer, the workforce, and logistics infrastructure.

In this presentation, Steve will summarize the study's findings and offer specific recommendations on how supply chain-dependent businesses can prepare to meet the significant changes and challenges they will face on the road to 2030.

Biography

Stephen (Steve) T. Hopper, PE, Founder and Principal with Inviscid Consulting, is a supply chain professional with extensive experience planning and streamlining warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, and distribution operations.

Steve has solved supply chain problems for numerous clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 corporations. He helps his clients drive down operating costs, boost capacity, improve service levels, reduce risk, implement effective supply chain solutions, and enhance the performance of their supply chain resources: people, processes, inventory, facilities, equipment, material handling systems, transportation assets, and supply chain information technology (IT).

Over more than three decades, Steve has held positions at several leading companies in the supply chain industry, including Kurt Salmon (now part of Accenture) and the supply chain consulting unit of Deloitte. Steve earned a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering (BIE) degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). He is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a licensed professional engineer (PE). Steve occasionally serves as an expert witness for litigation support and speaks at supply chain industry events.
