The PMI Atlanta AEC Forum is a focus group that hosts regular events with ranging topics in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields. We will show the importance of solid project management in these related fields of study.

Presentation 

In this session you will learn how the emerging technology of immersive, interactive, full-scale virtual reality will affect the architectural design, estimating and construction in the future. It is the next step in better communication with the client during the design process, efficient sub-consultant coordination, and problem-solving during the QA/QC process.

Contractors will learn how a full scale walk-through virtual reality model will help them develop better, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and effective coordination between subcontractors. A VR model turns the process of reading 2-D plans on-site to seeing the finished product in all its phases in a real-time full scale. Full-scale VR walkthroughs cross all language barriers and will revolutionize communication between clients, architects, engineers, contractors and code inspectors.

Biography

Macrae Cain is a Digital Operations Specialist with 18 years of digital media experience ranging from 3D modeling and animation, video production, web development, and branding. He has managed and consulted with creative, technical, and marketing projects for top-level companies such as Walmart, Huddle House, Ames Tools, HiFi Buys, and First Data.

Macrae has also built start-ups, executed small business mergers, and developed innovative business strategies that have resulted in improved client satisfaction and increased profit margins.
