The PMI Atlanta AEC Forum is a focus group that hosts regular events with ranging topics in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields. We will show the importance of solid project management in these related fields of study.

PMO’s are not new. Working implementations of various types of PMO’s are succeeding for many organizations. Of the many “flavors” of PMO, the typical ones are focused on one or a combination of:

• Project Management Office (PMO)
• Program Management Office (PMO)
• Portfolio Management Office (PMO)

In this presentation, Bill Gutches, will discuss the objectives and evolution of the PMO types from a conceptual standpoint -- their theoretical premises which may or may not be practical to achieve. With these insights, those who want a PMO, will begin to understand what it takes to get started; and those who have one will think about new ways theirs could evolve.

Biography 

Bill Gutches has over 25 years’ experience in the information systems industry. His industry experience includes Web Services, Banks and Brokerage firms, Health Care, Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, Computer Hardware and Software Vendors, Federal, State and Local Government agencies, Manufacturing, Education, and Consulting.

He is now providing Job and Income Search Coaching services to individuals and small businesses who are interested in increasing their Web Presence. And Bill has published his first book: “IT’s Lost Art of Software Engineering” available on Amazon.
