Presentation Details

What is ESG and why does it matter? ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is a set of standards and criteria for corporate entities and company operations related to sustainability. ESG exposes a company's risks and opportunities over a broad range of areas, such as climate change and resource scarcity, diversity, and inclusion (a component of the social pillar of ESG), safety issues and data security, executive pay and tax transparency. ESG improves a company's bottom-line, attracts top talent, reduces costs, and builds goodwill amongst consumers.

Recently, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed rules that could require public companies to disclose greenhouse emissions among other climate-related information. So, where and how are sustainability actions and the SEC connected? In this forum Elba will share the history of the ESG from the investor perspective, connect some dots and engage the group in open Q&A through the stakeholder lens.
