The PMI Atlanta AEC Forum is a focus group that hosts regular events with ranging topics in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields. We will show the importance of solid project management in these related fields of study.

Presentation Details

As the design and construction industry develops into an increasing complexity of project types requiring design solutions to accommodate change, flexibility will be required at multiple scales. The desired types of flexibility are contained within three components – adaptability, convertibility, and transformability. A cross section of the types and scales allows us to formulate a matrix of decisions to specifically address functional scenarios in the design process.

Biography 

Joshua Crews combines professional understanding of architectural design, project management, and research experience to implement Evidence-based Design (EBD) strategies into projects. Joshua has strong experience in the design and production of complex healthcare projects. Crews also uses his understanding of wellness design for patients, families and caretakes, to achieve a built environment that supports processes leading to better outcomes. His ongoing research in EBD, sustainability, and flexibility provides a multi-faceted approach to the planning and production of intricate design projects. Joshua has co-authored several articles in industry publications and continually cultivates relationships with leaders of research institutes. He brings an enthusiastic commitment to a team-oriented approach and is highly client-focused.
