Architectural, Engineering, & Construction (Virtual) Forum - 230411
"Using Virtual Reality To Close The Gap Between Hybrid and In-Person Work Environments" presented by Kristi Woolsey, VP of Environments Practice, Architect & Immersive Experience Designer at BCGX
The PMI Atlanta AEC Forum is a focus group that hosts regular events with ranging topics in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields. We will show the importance of solid project management in these related fields of study.
Work has changed dramatically since pre-pandemic and many companies have moved to a hybrid work model. The challenge is always that Zoom, Teams, and Webex do not replace the interaction of in-person meetings. Mixed in-person and virtual meetings are even worse. In early 2022, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) put together a team to explore the ability of Virtual Reality (VR) to close this gap. In this talk, you will hear that research as well as where BCG has taken VR applications since that work. It won’t be long before you too are donning a headset too!
