"Creating a Leader: An American Story" presented by Dr. Abhay V. Trivedi

Trivedi-AbhayLeadership is well understood by everyone. It can be easily demonstrated and serves a very importantpurpose in the vision, growth, success of an organization, or an individual. Great leaders come from all over, don’t need a Ph.D. nor need a lot of money. Leaders are committed to serve. Their selfless commitment toexcellence, progress, and growth of others they lead, or influence can be seen all around us. While Leadership can be defined in many ways, and there are multiple styles and categories of leadership, the goal is simply to share what you know, empathize where you can, live a life of integrity and honesty and bring out the maximum potential within you to serve others.

The book “Creating a Leader: An American Story” is a story about the power of leadership that stems from day-to-day observation of people. The ability to explain to very successful and egotistical executives, that money alone does not leadership define. The book provides an insight into the journey of a banking executive and its reliance on his army background to emphasize discipline and integrity in how success can be achieved as well as “the constant learning element of great leaders.” Leaders develop the ability to make the right decision at the right time, the ability to cultivate discipline andinnovation, the ability to communicate, to create dynamic teams where trust is foremost, and emphasize that failure is the only option to growth. Several examples are included from the author's experience working in several different industries and the U.S. government.
