Every second of television that you see required a team of individuals to create it. And at the head was likely a production manager. While production managers might not have creative control, shows live or die on their ability to anticipate, plan, and communicate what’s necessary for a production to succeed.  Take a detailed look into the similarities between managing a major project and a major production.

Brandi Harrison is a production manager with more than 15 years of experience in broadcast, operations, and event management. From documentaries, to live shows and even commercials, Brandi has been able to leverage her skills to create effective products for her clients, as well as great team environments.

Brandi started her career at the number 1 local news station in the country, producing commercials. The spots ranged from celebrity endorsements to million-dollar government campaigns to mom & pop stores with dogs and a baby – though thankfully not at the same time! While producing for 10 years, she discovered the right niche in production management. Being able to step away from the creative, while still having a great impact on the success of a project was the perfect balance.

Most recently, Brandi was the Senior Production Manager for the CNN Documentary Unit, responsible for managing the productions of 26-50 shows per year. She traveled crew around the world and ensured they had exactly what they needed when they arrived. Currently, she is the Senior Manager of Production Operations and Crewing with Turner Studios where she oversees the scheduling and usage of 6 studios, 11 control rooms, and almost 250 staff and freelance crew to produce shows for NBA on TNT, NBA-TV, TCM, ELEAGUE, truTV, and most of the other Turner brands.

Every step of Brandi’s career has honed her skills and deepened her knowledge of production and operations management.
