Presentation

Atlanta Ballet was founded in 1929 and added a Centre for Dance Education in 1996. Finding ways to successfully continue these dual missions during a pandemic has involved ingenuity, tenacity, and lots of technology. After a shutdown in the Spring of 2020, we began offering streaming and virtual classes in the Summer of 2020. Next, we were able to welcome back students to limited capacity in person classes. Throughout the fall and winter, we invited our patrons to join us for streaming rehearsals, performances, and intimate zoom discussions. In December 2020, we held a drive-in movie of The Nutcracker and a stream-at-home version of the show available for purchase. Families are currently registering for summer programs and next school year. And by the time of this presentation we will have concluded our Company season and hosted an in-person Spring Concert for our students.
