Presentation

"Lighten up! How to right-size program management processes to fit your organization" by Lauren Abraham Mahoney, Lubna Memon, Danal Slay from Jabian Consulting

As a project manager within your organization, you participate in project management processes and governance every day. Do these processes ever feel like more of a burden than a tool? Join us to learn how to use process optimization principles to better design project management processes. In this presentation, you will learn key elements of what makes a strong process, and basic elements of process improvement. We will talk about how to apply these principles to facilitate more effective project management.

Even for organizations that already have good processes in place, governance is key to making sure those processes are followed, and checks are in place along the way to mitigate risks and prevent issues. We will compare process governance to project governance. Are you right-sizing the level of governance that is needed for your project? We will talk about key factors to determine the right level of rigor and governance needed for your organization and how to optimize project management governance. We will use current events examples of how project management processes and governance can drive failure or success.

This will be an interactive presentation to share a process approach to project management and governance. Our aim is to raise your awareness and understanding of process optimization principles and how you can apply them in your role as project manager.
