Advanced technologies and innovation has clearly impacted the landscape of healthcare delivery over the past ten years… MRI, robotic surgery, retail health, telehealth, wearable devices, mobile apps, electronic medical records, etc. all have improved quality and changed the way we look at care …and just as we start to get accustomed to a new normal enter the science of genomics, the ability to personalize medical treatments, blockchain and AI technology.

In 2007, 23-and-Me began offering direct to consumer (DTC) genetic testing. Today dozens of companies offer DTC globally and the Industry is expected to grow to $350 million by 2022. And that’s just the “consumer” side of the getting to know genomics market. On the scientific side there’s a $23 billion genomic research industry that is advancing growth in a $43 billion precision medicine marketplace.

As precision medicine merges into mainstream care delivery, companies are creating global marketplaces for genomic commerce where science can publish and trade genomic data and Individuals can safely store, then share their genomic information with doctors and even get paid when they participate in medical research. , “It’s all about You!” explores how blockchain technology protects, secures and enables access to valuable genomic data in this new environment.
