“Everything is a Project!  Applying PM principles in fundraising, strategic planning, and program development at Camp Twin Lakes” Presented by Jill Morrisey CEO, Camp Twin Lakes

The PMI Atlanta Healthcare Forum has 9 planned sessions throughout 2018. Proposed topics include IT & IT PMO in Healthcare, Healthcare SME/Domain Forums such as Clinical, Laboratory, Research, Tomorrow's Healthcare & Government practices/law, Thought Leadership in Healthcare, and Innovation in Healthcare Technology.

Presentation 

In “Everything is a Project”, Jill will discuss how the team at Camp Twin Lakes applies project management rigor to fundraising and event planning, program development and long-range strategic planning.   Whether organizing a cycling event or planning a new program for children with medical and life challenges, the same principles apply.   Assemble the right team, develop a detailed work plan, identify metrics of success, establish a project budget, identify potential risks and mitigation strategies, implement the project, measure success.   Jill will give several examples of these steps using the impactful work of Camp Twin Lakes to illustrate that at work and in life, “everything is a project”!  

Biography

Morrisey-JillJill Morrisey spent the first 25 years of her career working as a health care leader in a variety of positions focused on strategic planning, finance, operations management, and physician relations.   Before joining Camp Twin Lakes in 2016, Jill was the Executive Director of the Neurosciences and Orthopedics service lines at Piedmont Healthcare.  She also spent 10 years leading Neurosciences at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.  It was during this time that Jill fell in love with the mission of Camp Twin Lakes and learned of the significant impact the intentional programs of the camp experience make in the lives of children with medical illnesses and life challenges.  In her new role as CEO of Camp Twin Lakes, Jill enjoys the opportunity to merge her passion for children and nature with her healthcare business expertise to a make a difference in the lives of 10,000 campers each year.
