Presentation 

The healthcare industry is evolving at a rapid pace leaving not only hospitals, but solutions providers, retailers, pharmaceutical companies and insurance providers struggling to keep up.

This presentation will take a brief look at the evolution of reporting tools used in the industry, from Excel to canned reporting tools to self-service tools, and will examine why it's critical for the industry to move towards more robust analytics tools. Business Intelligence, with the right approach, can drive results across Healthcare Organizations and allow them   to keep pace with the changing environment.  

Biography

Laura Visconti is a Business Analyst with over 17 years of experience.  She received her B.A. from Dalhousie University in Halifax, N.S. and Certificate in Applied Information Technology from Information Technology Institute in Halifax, N.S.  During her career as a Business Analyst specializing in reporting, Laura has worked in the Financial and Healthcare Industries.
 

Laura was heavily involved in fostering support for, and growing, the Analytics department at her previous employer, a Health Network in Connecticut. She is educated in Kimball Dimensional Modeling techniques, Data Warehousing and reporting tools such as Business Objects and Tableau.  She is currently a strong contributor to the BIS Team at Philips, supporting the Customer Services North America group.  In her free time, Laura enjoys playing tennis with her friends and spending time with her husband and dogs.
