Ever have moments when you want to say something but fear speaking up? Do you find it difficult to express your questions in a formal group gathering or meeting? Looking for an environment and a supportive team to develop your communication and leadership skills?
Toastmasters’ provides the empowerment and positive learning experience for exceptional personal growth.
Newcomers are immediately welcomed. Veterans meet and greet all new faces like old friends catching up. Don’t worry about not knowing anyone, by the end of the meeting you will have that, “Ah Ha” Moment---I need to be a part of this energy.
Speaking and expressing your thoughts may seem so passé with the new social norms dictating our communications today. Do not underestimate the power of speech; how words can cause action and reaction. If you are looking for structure without the rigidness and learn techniques on how to package your thoughts into impactful messages, then toastmasters welcomes you. Toastmasters uses a speakers guide, a timer, a joke master, evaluators, grammarian, and the “ah” counter to conduct the well timed meetings. All meeting attendees participate by volunteering in one of the roles as well as provide cheers and applause for everyone who speaks.
Speaking for some can be very natural and easy. But if you are interested in taking your speech delivery to another level, then consider attending a Toastmasters meeting. Every second and fourth Thursday of each month offers a forum for practice and empowerment. There are two tracks for Toastmasters: 1) Communications Track and 2) Leadership Track. Each track offers a curriculum and guide for helping each member to elevate their speech delivery. Plan to attend the following upcoming events to get a taste of the possible opportunities to practice your art of speech.
Toastmasters Leadership Institute - July 10, 2014
Humorous Contest – July 24, 2014
Fall Conference – October 31, 2014
