Candidate Search – Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee for the Atlanta Chapter of PMI is announcing the search for Board Candidates to fill the positions of:
Vice Chair
Director 2 (Treasurer)
Director 4 (at large)
Candidates for these positions will participate in the election to be held in November 2014 and will assume office on January 1, 2015.
The Atlanta PMI Chapter has over 4,500 members and is guided by an executive board. The board performs strategic planning, develops the chapter budget, procures services through contracts, and provides support and development to the Leadership Team, which in turn oversees the day-to-day operations.
Position Overviews - Brief Descriptions
Vice Chair: The Vice Chair is a 12-month role in preparation for the role of Chair in year two. The final year is the role of Chair Emeritus (Past Chair). Therefore, this role has a total commitment of three-years.
Role & Responsibilities: Assist the Chair with the management of the Atlanta Chapter and fulfill the role of Chapter Chair if the Chair is unable to perform duties for any reason.
• Shepherd strategic initiatives in concert with the Leadership Team
• Serve as primary link between the Executive Board and the Leadership Team
• Represent the chapter at public events when the Chair is unavailable
• Responsible for tasks as assigned by the Chair or Executive Board
• Work with the Chapter Event Planner in presenting an annual strategic planning session
• Assume leadership role in special projects when requested by Chair
Director 2 (Treasurer): The Director 2, Treasurer role is a two-year term.
Role & Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining financial records and oversight of the chapter’s finances. Serves on subcommittees as requested.
• Attend each Executive Board meeting
• Assist each Leadership Team member in developing their annual budget
• Assist in the diligent management of the chapter’s finances
• Coordinate efforts with bookkeeper (external) and Leadership Team VP or Finance on a regular basis
• Direct and cooperate with Accounting Firm that performs annual review (or audit); and preparation of Form 990 tax return
Director 4 (At Large): The Director 4, role is a two-year term.
Role & Responsibilities: Responsible for participating in the management of the chapter’s finances and activities. Serves on subcommittees as required.
• Attend each Executive Board meeting
• Assist in the oversight of the chapter’s finances and strategy
• Serve as a liaison (point of contact) for the leadership team VP of Communications, VP of Forums, and VP of Marketing
• Works to fill vacancies, when needed, on Executive Board
