Agile Forum - 170815

Motion Recruitment

"Applying Lean Agile Principles to Waterfall Projects"
presented by Steve Kraus, Senior Principal / Senior Business Architect at Daugherty Business Solutions

Kraus-Steve-3-square-borderThe Agile Forum meetings offer an opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing with other agile practitioners as well as provide a learning environment for professionals interested in learning about agile techniques. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Presentation

As Agile grows in popularity, many PMs and BAs are investing their time in learning about, and gaining certifications in, Agile approaches & practices. Unfortunately for some, when they return to their ‘real world’ situation, they find themselves working on projects that remain entrenched in a Waterfall approach to delivery. This can sometimes lead to frustration, as these PMs and BAs find that they cannot apply their Agile learnings to their projects.

Here’s the good news… Many of the approaches (and SOME of the practices) that these PMs and BAs learned in their Agile training can be applied directly to Waterfall projects to improve performance, transparency, and teamwork, as well as increase feedback. The purpose of this presentation is to share ideas about how each of us can build Lean Agile principles into our Waterfall projects.

Pre-Acute and Post-Acute Care; The Road is Widening…the Landscape Looks Fantastic!
Capturing Consumer Value in Health Care: Incorporating Convenience, Addressing Consumer Behavior
Presented By C.A. "Bud" Zborowski, Corporate Business Development Healthcare Executive

Presentation

The point of care is not evolving…it’s transforming, it’s exploding...

Ambulatory care is expected to grow 30% over the next five years; telemedicine consults will grow 700%; enter Uber healthcare (who would of thunk it?), kiosk physician visits and personalized genomic precision medicine… all are emerging as real tools...And soon the Home will be “King” along with wherever you care to be.

Outcomes-based health care is shaping the new care delivery landscape. Will executives need to think more competitively as wellness, health maintenance and primary care services become more retail in nature, and patient loyalty and engagement take center stage? Discussions will focus on how best to align products with lifestyle, conventional consumer-based values, and brand feelings.

SOLD OUT: The Miracle Project: The I-85 Emergency Bridge Repair - Networking Event - 170817

The Georgian Club

Thursday, August 17, 2017
6:00pm - 8:00pm

Grist-Adam-borderedThe collapse of the I-85 bridge near Piedmont Road last spring effected thousands of drivers daily. It also threatened businesses in the area with revenue losses due to rerouted traffic, and it strained auxiliary roadways. City officials projected a year before normalcy could be restored, that is, until a remarkable team pulled it off in record time. Join Adam Grist of C.W. Matthews Construction as he reviews what it took to pull “The Miracle Project” off.

  • Mastering the timeline
  • The project management process
  • Successes and and failures
  • The importance of cooperation amongst all stakeholders

Grist will also discuss labor trends in construction project management. This will truly be one networking sessions not to miss.

Our AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) Forum joins out Networking event this month.  See you there!
