PMO’s are not new. Working implementations of various types of PMO’s are succeeding for many organizations.

Of the  many  “flavors” of PMO, the typical ones are focused on one or a combination of:

• Project Management Office (PMO)
• Program Management Office (PMO)
• Portfolio Management Office (PMO)

In this presentation, Bill Gutches, will discuss the objectives and evolution of the PMO types from a conceptual standpoint -- their theoretical premises which may or may not be practical to achieve. With these insights, those who want a PMO, will begin to understand what it takes to get started; and those who have one will think about new ways theirs could evolve.
