Agile Forum - 200218Culture and Outcomes in the Digital Agepresented by Eric S. Norman, PMP, CSM, PgMP, PMI FellowThe Agile Forum meetings offer an opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing with other agile practitioners as well as provide a learning environment for professionals interested in learning about agile techniques. Everyone is welcome to participate. Presentation
In today's rapidly moving business environment, project, program and portfolio managers are finding that the approach, skills, processes and tools they once relied on to be successful are no longer working effectively. While organizations transform themselves into fluid, adaptable businesses that continually sense what is happening in their markets and then respond with products and services that directly meet their client’s needs, they demand the same from their initiative leaders. It will now be the initiative leaders' ability to sense what is happening in the business environment around them and then act upon this new understanding that will enable them to succeed, applying what they know in new and creative ways, moment by moment. This discussion provides practitioners with a fresh approach for applying their experience, knowledge and training in creative ways. Together, we will enhance the practitioner’s ability to apply a mix of sensing, perceiving, engaging and leading to the work, with a variable assortment of process elements and approaches – enabling them to tailor their leadership style and process methodology to align with the job to be done and the evolving business context. Gone are the days of rigid process models. The watchword for success in today's world is adaptability. In fact, in this session we'll demonstrate a new tool practitioners can use to determine which process mode fits the true nature of the work they take on. |

The use and application of emotional intelligence is rated a top five soft skill according to a recent published survey from LinkedIn based on an assessment of thousands of job postings in calendar year 2019. By definition, emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, evaluate and respond to both your own emotions and those of others, yet this skill is composed of several components which you have an opportunity to develop and improve over your career. Developing and improving your emotional intelligence can bring personal rewards, but also foster strong relationships with peers and leadership who collectively help to achieve your shared goals.
