For this month’s Special Interest Healthcare Forum, our presenter will offer insights to help Project Managers navigate several scenarios where time is limited, and the stakes are high. In the realm of project management, two distinct approaches govern how initiatives unfold: proactive and reactive projects. Proactive projects are meticulously planned and structured from inception, following a predefined roadmap to achieve desired outcomes. On the other hand, reactive projects emerge unexpectedly, often in response to urgent needs or unforeseen circumstances, like crises. While both types can lead to successful outcomes, reactive projects, carry inherent challenges. Their sudden onset can induce stress and heighten the risk of failure if not managed with agility and foresight. This dichotomy underscores the critical importance of effective project management practices in navigating uncertainties and maximizing the potential for success across diverse project landscapes.

The discussion will provide tips, tricks, lessons learned, and other considerations for project management in times of crisis, such as:

• What should be prioritized when executing in chaotic environments?
• What are the risks?
• How should we communicate?
