A volunteer position is open for Speaker Chair within the PMI Atlanta Agile Forum. This critical role has prime responsibility for ensuring speakers engage for monthly presentations, 10 months out of the year. This great networking opportunity places the volunteer at the forefront of mainstream Agile topics. The role requires good logistics management skills, a great personality and the drive to get things done. This position requires about 6-8 hours per month.
SPEAKER CHAIR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Contact speaker and invite them to speak at monthly meeting; include open dates, topics of interest, expectations such as length of meeting, typical agenda, visibility it will give them.
• Confirm speaker and date.
• Get speaker bio for PMI web site and submit to administrator at PMI Atlanta to post for the meeting notice/invite on Cvent (Web page).
• Proof the Bio posting after it has been posted on Web site.
• Ensure Community Outreach Volunteer posts to social media sites.
• Get speaker PowerPoint presentation & review for content and finalize with speaker.
• Ensure operations knows what speaker needs for meeting/facilities: computer, markers, etc.
• Confirm speaker a week before meeting.
• Greet speaker at meeting and help set up.
• Help with meeting facilitation/assist speaker as requested.
• Send thank you by end of week of monthly meeting to speaker.
