Candidate for Chair-Elect

Davidson-LauraLaura Davidson is an experienced project manager; professional speaker; and, dedicated servant leader. She loves history and art and spent 9 years as a museum docent combining the two. Laura loves to travel and view history at its’ source while experiencing an area with locals – she makes friends easily and never meets a stranger even when languages are not the same! She has worked in multiple industries for 20+ years and is a champion for raising the quality of the end product through effective communication and PM practices.  Laura is a self-proclaimed serial volunteer, having led over 500 walking tours in Atlanta and is a Past President of PMI Atlanta. Laura is honored to be a graduate of the global PMI Leadership Institute Masters Class (LIMC) and currently serves as a member of PMI CMAG; guest ambassador for the Georgia Aquarium, and President of National Speakers Association Georgia. 


Candidates for Treasurer

Russ-DarronDarron Russ is a PMP and CPA, active in the Atlanta area in accounting for over 25 years. CFO for several firms, with extensive accounting management experience. 

 

 

Urena-RamonRamon Urena is a Program Manager in Alpharetta, GA. He has a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. He is also a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute since 2013, and a Certified Scrum Master from ScrumAlliance since 2018.

Ramon currently works at Vericor Power Systems as a Program Manager, responsible for programs in South Korea and Japan. Prior to Vericor, he worked as a Project Manager for Thermocoax and a Business Development Manager at Siemens Energy.

His work and experience has gained him extensive knowledge in managing cash flows, financial planning, and contract review and negotiations. Providing an overall understanding of business operations and finances.

Candidates for Director-At-Large

Cronin-JosephJoseph Cronin is seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience in Business Information Systems and Technology Project Management, spanning careers at IBM and KPMG Peat Marwick. Although he is a semi-retired senior citizen, at 72 years old, he still has a wealth of experience, wisdom, and knowledge that he plans to “give back” to the community.

Joe was born in Cold Spring, NY in April 1947. However, his father was in the US Army, and they moved around the US from base to base. One tour of duty for the family was at Fort McPherson, Georgia.

Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Magna Cum Laude, and an MBA from Columbus State University. In addition, he completed an MBIS at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Joe has been a member of PMI, and the Atlanta, Georgia, Chapter, for 21 years, having earned his PMP certificate in 1998. He also worked with Steve Del Grosso, former member, PMI Board of Directors, when Steve was at IBM.

 

Aslani-NazyNazanin Aslani (nickname Nazy) has been a PMI member since 2011 and joined PMI Atlanta chapter in 2016. She has served as Director at Large on Executive Board since 2018. Prior to joining PMI Atlanta, Nazy was on Board of Director for PMI Los Angeles Chapter from 2013-2016 where she served as VP of Professional Development (2013-2015) and VP of Administration in 2016.

Nazy has spent her career in information technology with a broad background in project management, software development, system integration, and information security. In her current role as IT Project Manager with a major healthcare company, she is leading cross functional teams in software development and infrastructure projects.

Nazy has a B.S. in Computer Science from Kingston University, England. She is also a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and is in process of earning her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

 

Candidate for Secretary (Special 1-Year Term Election)

Acharya-NaraNara Acharya is currently an Assistant Director in the Client Technology Practice at Ernst and Young in Alpharetta, GA. He has over 20 years of experience in information technology, with a broad background in project and program management, technology consulting, systems integration, and software development.

He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University, India and a MS in Systems Science from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA.

Outside of work, Nara enjoys participating in his employer’s social and community events, volunteering with his sons' Boy Scouts Troop and following LSU sports. He is a metro Atlanta resident since 1996 and currently lives with his family in Alpharetta.
