Conrad-Brandon"Mind Mapping for Project Managers" presented by Brandon Conrad, Matchware

Tired of sticky notes and whiteboard sessions? Mind Mapping is an effective way to gather requirements for both BAs and PMs. A mind map is a diagram used to visually organize information. Project managers can use mind mapping to visualize and streamline their work load, list objectives of the project, and stay focused on outcomes. Mind mapping as a tool helps project managers consider multiple facets of the project plan in simple easily digestible diagrams.

Primarily used for the construction of the WBS, advanced uses of this technique also simplify the complex process of communicating the project plan. When Mind Mapping is coupled with technology it simplifies the process and enhances communication.

During this presentation, Brandon Conrad will explain the mind mapping theory and how that theory can be applied to BAs and PMs. He will also demonstrate best practice techniques in mind mapping and how it relates to technology.

Participants will learn how to simplify the project life cycle and improve communication for their project plans.

Keynote Presentation - 6:30pm - 8:00pm

"Agile vs. DevOps - What’s the difference?"

Presented by: Jeremy Pullins, Principal / Polodis

The Agile Forum meetings offer an opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing with other agile practitioners as well as provide a learning environment for professionals interested in learning about agile techniques. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Presentation

As companies pursue the Holy Grail of better, faster, and cheaper software, they PullenJeremyinevitably run into the challenge of how to optimize deployment and operations.  While the solutions vary by the situation, the principles remain the same.  Software is a fundamentally a complicated, and often complex, product that is costly to develop and difficult to operate.  While DevOps has been in existence for a long time, the term has recently emerged as a key element to scaling software development in a reliable and economically viable way.

We will discuss the roots of DevOps in traditional software development and configuration management, describe the emergence of DevOps as a fundamental organizational pattern in “next generation” internet companies, and chart the course for the future in areas such as DevSecOps and Internet of Things (IoT).  In the process we’ll touch on topics such as organizational culture, organizational design, software architecture, project management metrics, and continuous improvement.

Be sure to bring your questions for the Q&A section at the end, and get ready for a deep dive into one of the hottest areas of software development today!

In 2007, 23-and-Me began offering direct to consumer (DTC) genetic testing. Today dozens of companies offer DTC globally and the Industry is expected to grow to $350 million by 2022. And that’s just the “consumer” side of the getting to know genomics market. On the scientific side there’s a $23 billion genomic research industry that is advancing growth in a $43 billion precision medicine marketplace.

As precision medicine merges into mainstream care delivery, companies are creating global marketplaces for genomic commerce where science can publish and trade genomic data and Individuals can safely store, then share their genomic information with doctors and even get paid when they participate in medical research. , “It’s all about You!” explores how blockchain technology protects, secures and enables access to valuable genomic data in this new environment.
